• peace you promised

Weak willed by a sinful gaze I secrete in torment in this decaying shell

Waiting for the end of your absence

Pleading with blind eyes towards shadows to invoke your graceful presence

To hear your meek voice once more

Enduring in nothingness watching your grey sky cry

Yearning for the crown of life, fleeing from the prideful lies

Refusing selfish illusion, denying those captivating shackles and chains

My Dreams, My Struggles, My Battles are all in vain

Your cross is worth bearing even as mine dissolve in my enemy's wake

I'll embrace this existence, having faith that when it ends

I'll be worthy of that peace you promised
